  Tracy Fire is currently on scene of a grass fire in the area of Spring Court that occurred just before 2:40 PM. Upon arrival crews found a field near the train tracks on fire, that quickly spread through the vegetation. Two outbuildings, two trailers, and several vehicles were damaged in the fire. Multiple homes in the direct path of the fire were threatened due to high winds - personnel performed an aggressive fire attack to keep the properties safe, however a couple homes had minor exterior damage. Residents in the threatened homes were evacuated as a precaution with the help of the Tracy Police Department. Firefighters were able to stop forward progress of the fire and approximately two acres burned. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries have been reported. Crews will remain on scene for several hours to monitor hot spots and ensure no other fires start due to ember casting. A designated Water Watcher is an adult whose only job is to keep constant eyes on children in or near the water—no phone, no grilling, no socializing. Drowning is often silent and can happen in seconds. If you're hosting: 🏊 Assign a Water Watcher and rotate every 15–20 minutes. 🚪 Keep pool gates closed and self-latching. 🛟 Have life jackets available for inexperienced swimmers and while boating. 📱 Keep a phone nearby and know how to call 911 in an emergency. 👀 Stay within arm's reach of young children in the water.   At approximately 10:30 p.m. last night, South San Joaquin County Fire Authority crews responded to a vehicle that had left Interstate 205 eastbound east of MacArthur Drive, traveled down an embankment, and entered an irrigation canal. Upon arrival, firefighters found the vehicle partially submerged with two occupants trapped inside. Using specialized rescue equipment and techniques, crews successfully extricated both occupants from the vehicle and safely removed them from the canal. The patients were then transferred to ambulance personnel for transport to local hospitals. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries. This incident highlights the skill, training, and teamwork required to safely conduct complex vehicle rescue operations under challenging conditions.
