All new construction permitted through the South County Fire Authority is reviewed and inspected by the Community Risk Reduction Division to ensure that proposed construction projects, building improvements, remodels, and additions to existing structures meet applicable fire and life-safety requirements in accordance with the adopted California Fire Code and applicable City and County ordinances. All new installations and modifications to fire protection and life-safety systems are reviewed and inspected by the Community Risk Reduction Division to ensure that the installations or modifications meet applicable fire and life-safety codes and standards.

SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS
The South San Joaquin County Fire Authority requires all construction plans and documents to be submitted electronically in Portable Document Format (PDF) for all projects. Additional submittal requirements are listed on the online application.
The South San Joaquin County Fire Authority's online application portal is only for deferred submittals such as:
- County Fire Access - Cell Tower
- County Fire Access - Ground Mount Solar
- County Fire Access - Residential
- Emergency Responder Radio Coverage System (DAS System)
- Fire Alarm New/T.I.
- Fire Alarm TI - Cellular Communicator
- Fire Sprinklers
- Fire Service Underground
- Kitchen Hood Suppression System
- Paint Booth
- Smoke Control System

Please note that building permits and resubmitted documents associated with building permits must still be submitted to the respective Building Departments (City of Tracy or San Joaquin County).

PAYMENT
All credit and debit card transactions are subject to a non-refundable convenience fee of 2.55% of the transaction amount, or a minimum fee of $1.95, whichever is greater. Electronic check transactions are subject to a non-refundable convenience fee of $1.75 for transactions up to $50,000. Additional fees may apply for higher transaction amounts.
Please Note: The South San Joaquin County Fire Authority will never request payment via wire transfer. If you receive a communication requesting permit fees and have any concerns about its validity, please contact our staff directly at (209) 831-6707 to verify the request.
